--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WIDE OPEN weekend starts today with 11 races on tap.
RACE 2 ----- # 13 SUN CHASER (6-1) Shows up here after running 3rd for 50k and now drops to 16k trying to cash. Trainer McCarthy gives him the ultimate equipment change and gelded him after his last race to get him more focused. Seems to have this field outclassed. The son of Justify should be good enough to handle this crew.
THE BET: WIN and SHOW FLAT BET # 13 and Daily Double to #1. SHOW PARLAY
----------
RACE 3 ----- # 1 MAY DAY READY (7-2) - Comes in off a 3 month layoff and solid works for trainer Mandella. Class filly has back class and has run well over this turf course. Word in the barn is she is ready to go.
THE BET: WIN and SHOW FLAT BET # 1 and Trifecta Box 1-2-3 SHOW PARLAY
----------
RACE 7 ----- # 10 VENTRY STRAND (7-2) - Comes off running 3rd after much trouble in a Cal Stakes in his last race. Trainer Sadler turned him out for 3 months, put six works into him leading up to this race. Turning back to a mile should not be a problem here. Jockey Respoli takes over in the saddle.
